Asking Awkward Questions
There is a sense, that as I look back on my life, there has never been a time when I have not asked questions, sometimes very awkward questions. I then go searching for the answers, at least the answers that will satisfy me. As a result, I have sometimes found myself in some pretty awkward situations, and put a number of people off-side. But that doesn't stop me from asking the questions.
I decided a long time ago that there were answers to every question: solutions to every problem. All we need to contribute is the will, and yes, sometimes the money and even the sacrifice to find and flesh those answers out.
Unfortunately it seems to me that with many of the problems we face, individually and communally, one or more of those factors is not present. In many instances it is the will to see that the solution is found and acted upon that is missing from the equation, along with the preparedness to sacrifice some things for the good of the whole.
Albert Einstein pinpointed the problem when he said "The solution to a problem cannot be found by using the same thinking that caused the problem in the first place." Smart man, Professor Einstein.
And that seems to be the sticking point in many instances. Those who have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo have sufficient influence (and money) to dissuade those who have the wherewithall to do something from ever really changing things.
In the meantime, I will continue to ask the awkward questions...the 'if not why not, if so why' type of questions in the hope that one day there will be enough of us to bring about the will that is lacking to find the solutions to the problems we face.
Along with that is my commitment to my life goal "to resource an environment where people who so desire can discover and work towards fulfilling their potential" in the hope that one day we will be able to change the prevading environment of fear and really start to become who we truly are meant to be.
The material on this website arises out of more than twenty years of intentional personal development and reflection on all the experiences that have come my way over my life. I trust you find something of value in the musings of An Old Bald Dreamer.
(1) to muse: to ponder, to reflect upon; originating from The Muses, a collective name given to nine goddesses, the daughters of the Greek god, Zeus and Mnemosyne, the goddess who was the personification of memory. The Muses are credited with having inspired poetry, music and drama... NOT to be confused with 'musette', a small bagpipe like instrument.
